COVID-19 Protocols At Starbuck Rink

As we open up for the new season at Starbuck Rink we have been working hard to ensure your safety, through the summer we created a COVID-19 committee that has been working on setting out protocols that line up with the province and the different organizations that will be using the facilities. These protocols are being continuely monitored and adjusted as new information and different phases of re-opening are introduced.

Major changes include

  • Pre-screen prior to entry, either via the Manitoba Health online screening tool website https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/ or answer the questions posted at the entrance to the facility.
  • Washrooms will be limited to a maximum capacity of 2 at any time.
  • Showers are closed until further notice.
  • Canteen will be closed until further notice.
  • The drink machine that was situated in the main lobby area has been removed, it is recommended that people bring their own drinks to the facility.
  • The water filling station will remain open for bottles only, the fountain part will be turned off. Use hand sanitizer before useNote: Not all users of the facility will have access to the bottle refill station due to its location within the building.
  • Guests, including players, may not enter the facility more than 30 minutes prior to ice time.
  • Guests, including players, may not enter the facility more than 30 minutes prior to ice time.
  • Players are asked to vacate the facility within 20 minutes of completion of ice time to reduce traffic inside the building.
  • We ask participants to arrive “ice ready” when possible.
  • We ask that, if possible, siblings who are not playing to NOT attend the facility.
Children who are not playing must stay with the parent/guardian at all times.

Facility entrance access will be via the front door. Exit is via the hockey rink emergency exit doors in the main arena area. Please follow the signage. Do not try to leave the building through the front entrance as staff will be located at the front to monitor and admit users of the facility and will turn people around trying to leave through this door. There is also barriers to indicate that the front entrance is no longer an exit.

Please keep a check on the website for the latest information that will be updated on our COVID-19 Info webpage.
