Our mission is to provide a safe, modern, and welcoming hub for sports, recreation, and community events for residents of all ages in Starbuck and the surrounding areas.
For over four decades, the Starbuck Recreation facility has been the vibrant heart of our community. Our story is one of true community spirit and resilience. From our earliest days with natural ice to the modern facility we enjoy today, every step has been fueled by the support of local residents and volunteers.
When our aging ice plant needed a critical replacement, the community came together in an incredible fundraising effort, allowing us to install a modern, efficient ammonia plant in 2016. This spirit of support has enabled us to continue making key upgrades, ensuring the rink remains a source of pride for generations to come.
At the core of our facility is the Starbuck Ice Arena, featuring a 185x90 ice surface. Recent upgrades like our bright LED lighting system and new puck boards and plexiglass (installed in 2022) ensure a top-tier experience for players. For spectators, we offer a heated viewing area and a comfortable indoor lounge.
Alongside the arena, our separate curling facility houses three pristine sheets of curling ice, complete with its own lounge and a full-service bar. High-speed Wi-Fi and a full-service canteen round out the amenities available to all our guests.
Starbuck Recreation is powered by the dedication of our community. We are guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by countless volunteers who generously give their time. Our day-to-day operations are managed by our dedicated Rink Manager and staff, who work tirelessly to maintain the facility and provide excellent service.
We are incredibly proud to be the home of the Starbuck Hockey Academy, partnering to foster the next generation of local athletes. Beyond scheduled sports, our facility is a hub for tournaments, bonspiels, and community gatherings that bring us all closer together.
